Executive Secretary - The Rotary Club of Galveston

The Rotary Club of Galveston is currently accepting applications for a part-time Executive Secretary.
The Executive Secretary is the primary administrative liaison between the Rotary Club of Galveston, District 5910, Rotary International, and the officers and members of the Club.  This professional staff person is charged with both independent action and providing administrative support for the Club President.  The position requires a high degree of professionalism and autonomy.  Participation in weekly meetings (Wednesdays at noon) and monthly Board of Directors meetings is an integral part of the role of ensuring effective communication and coordination. Additional duties will be performed remotely.  Space to store office supplies and administrative records is required.
This position requires a minimum of three years of experience in a professional, executive administrative position.  Candidates must have excellent organizational and interpersonal skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel; bookkeeping principles; and the ability to prepare financial statements.  Quickbooks experience is required.  Hours will vary throughout the year but will average 10-15 hours per week.  This is a contract position, and the salary is $1,200 per month.

KNOWLEDGE

  • Formal training in office management or equivalent experience.
  • Computer literate with extensive Microsoft word processing experience.
  • Knowledge and experience using Quickbooks to maintain club financial records preferred.

  • Ability to interact with club members and non-members in a professional manner.
  • Ability to plan and organize several projects at once.
