The 26th Annual Grand Kids Festival
The 26th annual Grand Kids Festival is set for Saturday, April 30. Sponsored by The Grand 1894 Opera House, this fun, family event will take place from 10am-5pm in historic downtown Galveston's Cultural Arts District on Postoffice Street - between 20th and 23rd streets. Festival hours are 10am - 5pm. Admission is free. The Festival features three outdoor stages, an indoor stage ( at The Grand 1894 Opera House, 2020 Postoffice Street), a storytelling tent, more than a dozen activity areas, over 40 activity booths, and a variety of food and beverage booths filling the festival area! Families can look forward to live entertainment by professional artists, stunt bikes, bungee trampolines, a balloon artist, multiple art demonstrations, a petting zoo, pony rides and so much more. Youngsters will also have the special opportunity to interact and be inspired by all the activities available, such as "creating" a hands-on masterpiece while experiencing live performances. Missoula Children's Theatre will host a week-long residency that begins with an open audition - for students kindergarten through high school - on April 25, 2022, with rehearsals throughout the week. Two performances will be held on April 30th on stage at The Grand, in conjunction with Kids Fest. Galveston's Grand Kids Festival is recognized as "the largest free art-focused children's event held on the Gulf Coast." Come enjoy the fun!
