Photographers Squared Presentation
Galveston Arts Center will host a FREE educational photography presentation on Wednesday, May 13th at 6:30pm. The presenters are New York photographers Mindy Veissid and RA Friedman, who believe that fascinating material can be found in everyday settings that anyone can use to create eye-popping photographs. Veissid and RA Friedman artfully illustrate this idea by documenting and sharing their discoveries to public audiences. Working with minimal camera equipment, Mindy and RA will photograph intensely over five days in five random locales. They will be in San Antonio, TX on May 11th and will then visit Galveston. By presenting at high schools and local community centers, they strive to bring their unique photographic techniques, methodologies and working philosophy directly to young photographers and creative enthusiasts, inspiring them to follow their own vision. Veissid uses a DSLR with a zoom lens, and Friedman shoots medium format b&w film with a 40 year-old fixed focal length Hasselblad. More about their project can be found at www.photographers-squared.com.
