Myth & Legacy of Galveston's Gambling History
Galveston was once filled with illegal gambling, booze, and fine dinner clubs operated by the Maceo brothers. Kimber Fountain is the author of an authorized history of the Maceo family, who operated clubs throughout Galveston County. The family, who gave Galveston international exposure and influenced the Las Vegas vibe, shared exclusive info with the author. Fountain will present a talk about this fascinating part of Galveston history. This is a FREE event, and the author's books will be available. Then, visit the exhibit hall to see artifacts from the famous Balinese Room.
