Fine Arts Extravaganza- GISD Educational Foundation
The Galveston Independent School District (GISD) Educational Foundation will host the ?Fine Arts Extravaganza?, its annual fundraising event on Friday, April 29, 2011. We are pleased to honor the grand dame of the arts for Galveston Island, Maureen Mezzino Patton, executive director of The Grand 1894 Opera House. The event features an evening with some the best and brightest GISD students and professional community artists displaying hands-on activities such as jewelry making, watercolor painting, quilting, ceramics and dance lessons, just to name a few . We will be celebrating the arts in our school district and our community! All proceeds from this event will go to support grants related to the arts for GISD teachers.
