Delve into the private lives of Sandhill Cranes ? their trumpeting calls, elegant choreography, imaginative courtship rituals and so much more ? in this engaging presentation by crane expert Keanna Leonard, Education Director of the Iain Nicolson Audubon Center at Rowe Sanctuary. From roosting to preening to parenting, guests will understand and appreciate Sandhill Cranes like never before. Guests will be treated to locally roasted gourmet coffee from Galveston Island Coffee. Gourmet teas also will be available, along with holiday biscotti and other delectables. After the hour-long program, participants will head out on Holiday with the Crane?s signature Crane Crawl. This self-driving tour to crane hotspots will be a real-time opportunity to see Sandhills as they forage and play. Viewing areas will be outfitted with spotting scopes, and Island crane enthusiasts will be on hand to assist and answer questions.
