AIA Sandcastle Competition
On Saturday June 2, 2012 AIA Houston will host the 26th Annual Sandcastle Competition at East Beach, Galveston, TX. Over 60 teams of architects, engineers, contractors, and design build professionals and students will compete for the coveted Golden Bucket. In addition to the grand prize, teams compete for prizes in themed categories including "Stars and Stripes," "That's Entertainment," "Best Traditional," "Most Complex," Most Hilarious," and of course, "Best Architectural." One of the oldest and largest amateur sand sculpting competitions in the world, the event attracts over 20,000 spectators annually.
