A Trip through Time

This year marks the 10^th Anniversary of the Galveston ISD Educational Foundation and we are hosting the 2012 Spring Annual Event on Thursday, April 19, 2011 at the Galveston Railroad Museum. We will celebrate a decade of philanthropic giving to teachers and schools within GISD and commemorate the Foundation’s founding board members.

“A Trip through Time” will mark historical happenings in our community via a hands-on celebration of Galveston’s colorful past and bright future. The importance of Galveston’s history will be highlighted by displaying how our island’s legacy is embedded in the curriculum and education our students.

All proceeds from the event will support the Foundation’s Grants to Teachers and Grants to Schools Program, which facilitates GISD teacher’s ability to enhance the historical learning experiences of their students
